Love Int’l filmfest nominates 3 Iranian works

The 2021 edition of the Love International Film Festival (LIFF) in the US has nominated three Iranian movies in several categories.

‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’ by Afshin Hashemi and ‘Endless Night’ by Hamid Tamjidi are nominated in best feature category.

Tamjidi and Hashemi, playing respectively in ‘Endless Night’ and ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’, are also among the nominees in best actor category.

Nelly Minassian and Shabnam Moqaddami, playing respectively in ‘Endless Night’ and ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’, are nominated in best actress category.

The late Iranian actor Nasser Gitijah and the late Iranian actress Fatemeh Taheri are among the nominees respectively for the awards for best supporting actor and actress for their roles in ‘Endless Night’.

Tamjidi and Hashemi are also among the nominees in best director category for directing ‘Endless Night’ and ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’, respectively.

In the best screenplay category, Maryam Bakhtair and Tamjidi are nominated for ‘Endless Night’ and Hashemi for ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’.

Morteza Poursamadi and Mohammad Hadadi won nominations in best cinematography category for ‘Endless Night’ and ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’, respectively.

Parham Parvas and Tamjidi are nominated in best score category for ‘Endless Night’ and William Nayeri for ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’.

‘The Game of Life’ by Hamid Araqi is nominated for the award for best foreign short.

The other nominees are from the US, the UK, Russia, Norway, Canada, the UAE, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Hungary, France, Mexico, the Netherlands, Japan, Poland, and China.

The winners of the 2021 LIFF will be announced on September 14.

‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’ is a romantic story about Nasim who is from Abadan and Shabnam, a widow who lives with her daughter. When they both rent the same house they have to deal with each other until they find a solution.

‘Endless Night’ tells the story of a couple who have problems in their marriage. The man wants to get a second wife but the wife becomes aware of the issue and tells the truth to the second woman. The truth leads to more troubles in their lives.

‘The Game of Life’ is about a young doctor who finds his own father in a hospital bed.
